I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

Can you believe it? Soon, Citrus County can add mountain biking to its long list of outdoor recreation opportunities! The construction of a new network of trails for mountain bikes began a couple of weeks ago at Whispering Pines Park in Inverness.
The trails are being built by local riders (myself included) and while there is still lots of work to do, the trail is already starting to take shape. If you are interested in helping out, there's a work party scheduled for this Saturday starting at 8 a.m. and finishing up around noon. Stick around afterward for hot dogs and drinks! Meet up with the group at the Whispering Pines Community Center parking lot.
Here's a really short video to give you an idea of what's going on. Come on out and play in the woods!
