I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

Florida off-road biking trails just keep getting better! Thanks to some funding assistance from the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (AARA), the Munson Hills/Twilight trail in the Apalachicola National Forest is getting some much-needed enhancements.
The public is invited to ride along this coming Saturday, Sept. 12, while Valerie Naylor of Trail Dynamics performs an assessment survey of the trail. This is a great chance to see what it really takes to build user-friendly and sustainable trails for all to enjoy.
After the ride, stick around for a Q&A session and enhancement presentation at the San Marcos Community Room. Tom Sauret, Executive Director of SORBA (Southern Off-Road Bicycle Association) and Regional Director of IMBA (International Mountain Bicycling Association) will also be in attendance, so you'll have the opportunity to hear the latest on all the news regarding mountain biking in the Southeast.
Check out the offical blog for the National Forests in Florida or the Tallahassee Mountain Bike Association's Web site for more information.
