I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

Pangea Adventure Racing Credit: Kevin Mims
Looking for an adventure?Â
The Kings SuperHero Adventure Race will be held on Saturday, Sept.19, at Kings Landing and Rock Springs Run in Apopka. There's still plenty of time to assemble your two-, three- or four-person team! Of course, if you are really hardcore, you can always compete as a solo racer in the Elite 6-hour race. Either way, now is the time to put in a few miles on the trail (running, biking, and paddling), and brush up on those orienteering skills.
If this will be your first adventure race and aren't quite sure as what to expect, Pangea will be having an "AR 101" that will go over the basics and everything you need to know to make your race an enjoyable one! Map reading, orienteering tips and checkpoints are just a few of the areas that will be covered.
The Kings SuperHero Adventure Race is also a good opportunity to check out Rock Springs Run, one of Central Florida's outdoor gems. It's a popular paddling location, and I've got a blog post on that here.
Make sure and visit www.pangeaadventureracing.com for race times, fees and course descriptions. Go ahead and register early, too. This is a popular race that you don't want to miss!
