I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.
Come one, come all to the last open house for 2012 at Three Sisters Springs! Event is this Sat, Feb.11: http://t.co/CYi515em

Ocala National Forest hiking Credit: U.S. Forest Service
The second annual National Outdoors Day event is right around the corner! Make plans to spend this Saturday, June 13, outdoors with your friends and family.
Here in Florida, take some time to explore the wide range of recreational opportunities in our National Forests. I don't think there are any planned activities, but it is a perfect reason to get a little exercise and connect with the natural side of Florida. Interested in Florida hiking but have never given it a try? What about geocaching? Or kayaking? All of these activities are wonderful ways to bring out that inner adventurer!
Browse around on the Florida section of the U.S. Forest Service website where you'll discover tons of activities in the Apalachicola, Osceola and Ocala national forests.
Take some time and enjoy National Outdoors Day!
