I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

Snorkeling at the Coral Reef Credit: Kevin Mims
Hi everyone!
Well, I'm down in Key Largo where for the past few days I have been kayaking and snorkeling at John Pennekamp Coral Reef Park. It's a tough life, huh?
I'll be meeting up with the VISIT FLORIDA crew today to put together a video about all the cool stuff you can do here at John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park. Into SCUBA, snorkeling, and kayaking? John Pennekamp State Park is where you need to be. Here, you can dive and snorkel at the only living reef in North America, and it's also the third largest coral reef in the world!
Another cool tidbit before I go - I'm staying at the Holiday Inn, where you can see the boat used in the classic 1951 film "The African Queen" starring Humphrey Bogart and Katharine Hepburn. It makes for a great photo!
Look for a video on John Pennekamp Coral Reef State Park in the near future. Have fun exploring the natural side of Florida!
