I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

If you have an interest in Florida’s great outdoors and nature, birding, and photography, you definitely don’t want to miss Florida’s Birding and FotoFest in Saint Augustine.
The event, which runs from Wednesday, April 22 to Sunday, April 26, is an excellent opportunity to learn from leading outdoor and nature photographers during the numerous classes that are being offered at the Birding and FotoFest.
The events that make up the Birding and FotoFest will take place in various locations including the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park, the St. Johns County Agriculture Center and The Center for Marine Studies at Whitney Laboratory for Marine Bioscience.
From Thursday to Sunday, be sure to make your way to the St. Augustine Alligator Farm and Zoological Park for three hours of self-guided photography. At the park, there will be ample opportunities to photograph hundreds of wild birds, including herons, egrets, and storks, in natural habitats.
Photo and learning opportunities during this event are seemingly endless.
There will even be a photo tour of St. Augustine – the perfect chance to experience and photograph the nation’s oldest city.
For schedules, directions, and other information visit www.getaway4florida.com/birdfestival or call (800) 418-7529. Tickets can be purchased online or by calling (800) 514-ETIX (3849).
