I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.

Interested in taking in some "100 percent pure organic Americana" music while enjoying the scenic surroundings of the Suwannee River? The 13th Annual Suwannee Springfest promises just that.
The event is scheduled for March 26-29 at Spirit of the Suwannee Music Park in Live Oak. The festival's wide array of music includes folk, bluegrass, roots rock, rhythm and blues and Cajun. The park is more than 500 wooded acres located along the river and has trails for hiking, biking and horseback riding.
It's a great time to bring out the lawn chairs and blankets, enjoy the music and experience this great outdoor destination. For festivalgoers interested in camping, the park has a few options. Primitive campsites are available in several areas on a first-come, first-served basis. Sites with electric and water are also available. The festival will take place rain or shine so come out and join the fun. Tickets at the gate cost $30 to $60 for single-day admission, depending on the day, and $130 for full event admission.
