I'm a freelance writer and videographer, and spend most of my days exploring Florida's natural wonders from a kayak, a bike or rambling down a hiking trail. A Florida native living in Citrus County, you'll often find me watching the boats go by on the Homosassa River. I'm always sharing stories, photos and videos, so follow along and together we'll discover Florida's natural treasures.
Come one, come all to the last open house for 2012 at Three Sisters Springs! Event is this Sat, Feb.11: http://t.co/CYi515em

If you are near Brooksville in Hernando County, here are two great outdoor events that are coming up this weekend at the Chinsegut Nature Center.Â
On Friday night, Feb. 27, it's Nature and Folk Song Night! This is a great event for the whole family to sit around the campfire, sing and swap stories in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Make sure to bring along your chairs and a flashlight. Also, if you play an instrument or sing, this is a great place to show off those skills! The get-together starts at 7 p.m. and lasts until about 9 p.m.
The next morning, there is a Junior Birding Workshop starting at 10 a.m. until noon. Join the staff of the Chinsegut Nature Center on a bird walk, for some games and for a slideshow. I've attended workshops like this one, and it's a great way to introduce young people to the outdoors and get them excited about nature. It's for ages 16 and under, and those under the age of seven need to be accompanied by an adult.Â
Come on out to the Chinsegut Nature Center this weekend and enjoy some of Florida's great outdoors!
Please visit the Chinsegut Nature Center website for more information and other great events.
