Formerly Private, Exclusive TPC Treviso Bay Wants YOU!

You can be pretty sure any golf course that flashes the TPC brand is going to be prestigious, well-maintained and, let's face it, rather expensive.
The Tournament Players Network of golf clubs around the country – the six in Florida include the flagship TPC Sawgrass – is operated by the PGA Tour and held to exacting standards, since they were built to give customers the PGA Tour experience.

There are daily-fee and resort courses in the network, and there are even more private TPC courses. One of those private courses, Treviso Bay, was the first TPC golf course in southwest Florida, and it hosted the Ace Group Classic tourney in 2009.

The club ran into financial problems after that, but now it is back open and, more importantly for our purposes, open to everyone.

A coupon in the local paper, the Naples Daily News, offers $30 off the morning green fees of $159 or the afternoon rate of $129 from Friday through Sunday.

The offer is good through what remains of this month, and officials say the course will be open to the public for the foreseeable future. In fact, they're courting the public and doing other things like adding golf carts and forming reciprocal arrangements with neighboring courses, according to the paper.

Treviso Bay is an elegant design by Arthur Hills, with input from Hal Sutton, and well worth a visit if you're looking to play an upscale, TPC track without having to join.
