I'm a wordsmith, Miami native, mom of two boys and a die-hard Floridian with one pair of closed-toed shoes. We hit the road when the school bell rings to explore everything from citrus tours and sandy shores to toddler-friendly fun and teen-approved thrills. If you're looking for the perfect Florida for your family, you'll find hundreds of ideas right here - from a mom who knows.

If you're looking for something super fun and really unique to do with your family this Thanksgiving, then head over to Jungle Island. They are having an all-you-can-eat Thanksgiving Feast from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day - AND it includes free admission to Jungle Island for the day!
Imagine moms - no turkey to thaw, no dishes to clean, just an enjoyable day spent walking through their lush gardens, seeing animal shows, meeting creatures and relaxing. Their Thanksgiving Feast will be served in their Lakeside Cafe that overlooks Flamingo Lake where all their pink flamingos hang out. And on the menu will be oven roasted turkey, Virginia baked ham, whipped potatoes, fabulous pies, stuffing and more. Then you can walk it all off enjoying the beautiful grounds.
The price? Adults are only $19.95 and kids 3-10 are $15.95. And this includes your admission to Jungle Island! Plus, they are offering all this free to veterans, military and teachers when accompanied by their families. How great is that?
For tickets, log on to the website. You have to pre-purchase these tickets by Tues., Nov. 24, 2009. Have a great time! And don't forget to feed the lorikeets while you're there.
