I'm a wordsmith, Miami native, mom of two boys and a die-hard Floridian with one pair of closed-toed shoes. We hit the road when the school bell rings to explore everything from citrus tours and sandy shores to toddler-friendly fun and teen-approved thrills. If you're looking for the perfect Florida for your family, you'll find hundreds of ideas right here - from a mom who knows.

Epcot International Food & Wine Festival

September 30, 2009

Start saving your calories as it’s time for the 14th annual Epcot® International Food & Wine Festival at Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. This super delicious event takes place from Sept. 25 – Nov. 8, 2009, but savoring food from six different continents is only the beginning of the fun!
  • Beer and wine seminars from some of the world’s most famous wineries
  • Culinary demonstrations and tastings from celebrated chefs
  • Eat To The Beat! Concert Series featuring performers such as Richard Marx, Billy Ocean, Boyz II Men, Big Bad Voodoo Daddy and Vanessa Carlton
  • New food additions include Rio de Janeiro and Bangkok
  • Book signings
My family loves the Epcot Food & Wine Festival. We try to attend every year as it’s always a fantastic time. Even my little one (who’s 5) enjoys spending the day sampling foods from around the world. Of course, sometimes I bribe him, “Try one escargot and you can go ride Soarin’ – twice!”

My mouth is already watering just thinking about all the tasty food! From seared sea scallops in New Zealand to pork pot stickers in Shanghai, definitely bring your appetite and wear your comfortable shoes as the entire EPCOT lagoon is surrounded by 25 different international marketplace booths/kiosks that will be serving up tapas-sized portions of regional specialties.

One more Insider tip to give you is this: Make your life a whole lot easier and get a Disney Gift Card to wear on your wrist. You can preload and reload it with money and then you don’t have to dig in your wallet for cash or credit each time you want to make a purchase. And believe me, you’ll be making lots of little food purchases. We did this last year and it was so easy. You can get these cards at the Welcome Center, Gift Shops, Ticket Booths…just ask one of the friendly Disney team members.

Admission to the International Food & Wine Festival is included with your regular park admission (Adults $79, children ages 3 – 9 $63, children ages 2 and under are free). Be sure to ask about Florida Resident specials if you reside in-state. For more information, log on to their website or call 407-824-4321.

Have a wonderful time!
