I’ve got a treat for you! Coming very soon, I’ll be posting an article about Top Places for Halloween Fun in Florida. Ready to get in the spirit of things? Here’s a sneak peek that’ll send a few shivers up your spine:

ZooBoo 2009
Lowry Park Zoo - Tampa
Select nights from Sept. 26 - Oct. 31, 2009
For outstanding Halloween fun in the
Tampa area, take your family and friends to
Lowry Park’s ZooBoo. The special annual event features an amazing array of spooky and not-so-spooky adventures. Best of all (at least from a mom’s point of view), each adventure is rated from one to seven skulls so you know its appropriateness and scare-intensity. One skull is ‘fun for all ages’ and seven skulls is ‘scary to the extreme’ so only those ages 10 and up (and very brave) are welcome.
Â
All regular rides and attractions will be open 7 p.m. - 11 p.m. (Friday and Saturday dates) and 7 p.m. - 10 p.m. (Sunday through Thursday dates) for one low price.
Â
Check out this list of adventures (and this is just the short list!):Â
- Fright Theater 3DÂ (3 skulls)
- Creepy Crawlers Lane (1 skull)
- Frankenstein’s Foam Party (2 skulls)
- Hidden In The Mist Horse-drawn Carriage Ride (2 skulls)
- Declassified: Project Alien (7 skulls)
- Terror of Doom Island (5 skulls)

Not into ghosts and ghouls? You can find plenty of old-fashioned fall family fun around Florida, too:

Uncle Donald’s Farm - Lady Lake
Pumpkin Patch opens in October
Fall Fun Nights Oct. 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24
Just 30 minutes south of Ocala, you can wander through 50 acres of interactive farm fun at
Uncle Donald’s Farm. And beginning in October, you can pick out a perfect pumpkin at the
annual Pumpkin Patch.
Â
For a memorable evening, mark your calendar for
Fall Fun Nights, Oct. 9, 10, 16, 17, 23 and 24, from 7:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. Bring the entire family for a nighttime hayride; take a ‘Walk on the Wild Side’ and see panthers, owls and other nocturnal animals. Visit the ‘Creepy Crawly Barn’ for a close encounter with reptilian wonders. And, find your way through the hay maze if you can, keeping your eyes open for animal jokes along the way. Of course, the Pumpkin Patch will be open, too.
Â
And don’t forget,
Uncle Donald’s Farm is practically a zoo! You can milk goats, feed chickens, see turkeys, pet pigs…and they are a
Wildlife Rehab Center so you can see panthers, birds of prey and lots more. If you get a little hungry, there’s a gift shop and country store. Bring your camera for sure.
Â
So there's my sneak peek of Halloween fun. Stay tuned for LOTS more great places for Halloween fun in Florida – coming soon!
