Does your child have an ‘injured’ teddy bear in need of a few stitches? Or a stuffed animal who needs a little special TLC? Then bring your kids and their stuffed best friend to the
Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens this Saturday, May 16, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. for their
17th Annual Teddy Bear Affair!
Â
Not only will child get in free by bringing their teddy bear in need of repair, their stuffed animal will be given special treatment by the staff of Nemours – one of the nation’s largest health systems dedicated to the health of children.Â
Â
In addition to free admission, your kids can enjoy animal encounters, prize drawings and visits from Jazoo, their lion mascot. Kids can also learn about safety from Smokey the Bear and Radio Disney will be on-site with music and games from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Â
The purpose of the Teddy Bear Affair is to give children the opportunity to role play with medical staff in a non-threatening environment – lessening their anxiety about going to the doctor or hospital. And what a great opportunity to spend a nice afternoon together!
Â
So bring the family out for a day of great fun at the
Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens. You’ll find the zoo on Jacksonville’s north side at 370 Zoo Parkway, one-half mile east from I-95. The zoo is open till 6 p.m. on weekends and holidays from March to Labor Day. For more info visit
