It’s been called “The Most Family-Friendly Wine Festival” so I wanted to tell you all about it! It's the 23rd Annual Sandestin® Wine Festival at The Village of Baytowne Wharf coming up April 23-26. (This is up on Florida's Emerald Coast near Fort Walton Beach, about an hour from Pensacola.)
There's plenty of fun for adults and kids to be found at the
Sandestin Golf and Beach Resort, where this amazing event is being held. Adults can enjoy fantastic wines (more than 600 domestic and international wines will be poured), and for a small additional fee, you can gain entrance to the Cheese Pavilion – this is the first time they’ve had this but it sounds so delicious – you can sample fine selections of cheese from around the world (and fresh baguettes, too). Yum!
Kids will love the two playgrounds, right in the middle of the action so parents can relax a bit while the children have fun building sand sculptures.
Sandestin also is now offering YOLO boarding. These stand-up paddle boards (they call it YOLOing – and it stands for You Only Live Once) are available seven days a week and offer fun for all ages – as well as a great workout! You stand up on a longboard and use a canoe-like paddle to move across the water. Oh, there is also zip-lining, a rope course, a tree climb, Eurobungy, canoeing, kayaking, nature walks on Jolie Island, tennis, junior sailing…and more!
OK, back to the wine festival…from now until April 23 one-day tickets to the wine festival are $60 and two-day tickets are discounted to $90 per person. After April 24, tickets are regularly priced at $70 for one day and $110 for two days per person. For more information, visit

Family packages are available for accommodations as are a slew of other packages from spa to romance and golf. For more information about this fantastic wine festival or top rated resort, log on to their website at
