Hang gliding is my passion, and in 2006, I helped the U.S. Women's Hang Gliding Team win silver in the World Championships. An author, ultimate adventure lover, beach bunny and sand snob, I've visited almost every beach in Florida and can't wait to explore more. Join me as I flip-flop across the Sunshine State, sharing the softest sand, sweetest shores and a boatload of adventure.
Today's Key West event guaranteed to float ur flip-flops- but not ur boat! #Florida @thefloridakeys http://t.co/UbWjcM0n

Siesta Key will knock your socks off, in the most pleasant way imaginable. After all, it’s a rare beach-bunny that could bear to stay shod on its oh-so-famous, award-winning, sugar white sands.
The sheer number of awards it’s won is staggering. For instance, the family-friendly beach was Dr. Beach’s pick for the second-best in the country in 2010 and won America's Best and Top Ten website’s award for the Whitest Beach as well as 1987’s "Great International White Sand Beach Challenge.”
Besides boasting the softest sand on the planet, it also boasts clear, emerald colored waters and a shallow bottom that makes it ideal for swimming – and for little kids!
Check out the flick I shot at Siesta Beach a few days ago and you’ll see what I mean.

We were in Siesta Key in July. It was so beautiful and the sugary white sand was great! We hope to visit Siesta Key next year!
