Hang gliding is my passion, and in 2006, I helped the U.S. Women's Hang Gliding Team win silver in the World Championships. An author, ultimate adventure lover, beach bunny and sand snob, I've visited almost every beach in Florida and can't wait to explore more. Join me as I flip-flop across the Sunshine State, sharing the softest sand, sweetest shores and a boatload of adventure.

Looks like a powerfully-purple place for a run to me! Credit: Lauren Tjaden, VISIT FLORIDA Adventure and Beach Insider
Even if you don’t have a passion for a purple, believe in purple-power, or own even one pair of unapologetically-purple pants, you should jog over to Jacksonville Beach on Sept. 18, 2010, for PurpleStride.
The event includes a four-mile and one- mile run hosted by the Jacksonville Affiliate of the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network. When you join in you’ll be doing your part in finding a cure for pancreatic cancer -- and it promises to be a blast. The running routes are entirely on the beach, and PurpleStride offers more fun than the run, including:
·   Musical entertainment
·   Tasty food
·   Speakers
·   Festival
Better sprint! You need to register for PurpleStride Jacksonville by Sept. 4, 2010, to guarantee a T-shirt in your size.
