Hang gliding is my passion, and in 2006, I helped the U.S. Women's Hang Gliding Team win silver in the World Championships. An author, ultimate adventure lover, beach bunny and sand snob, I've visited almost every beach in Florida and can't wait to explore more. Join me as I flip-flop across the Sunshine State, sharing the softest sand, sweetest shores and a boatload of adventure.

I begin with a disclaimer.
My video of horse surfing – the odd, new sport that’s splashed into Bradenton courtesy of Great World Nature Tours– contains only before-and-after footage. The surfing suspects were too far out in Palma Sola Bay to film them making their valiant attempts to stand atop their steeds, and when I tried it for myself a short while later, I left my camera in the car.
After all, Kodak says the camera is “water resistant,” not that it’s going to stand up to being thoroughly soaked and pummeled.
I am happy to report that the camera lived to film another day, and the video is worth a glance. If you’re interested in getting some sand in your boots in this most wacky way, check it out!
This video was shot with my KODAK Zx1 Pocket Video Camera.
