Hang gliding is my passion, and in 2006, I helped the U.S. Women's Hang Gliding Team win silver in the World Championships. An author, ultimate adventure lover, beach bunny and sand snob, I've visited almost every beach in Florida and can't wait to explore more. Join me as I flip-flop across the Sunshine State, sharing the softest sand, sweetest shores and a boatload of adventure.
Today's Key West event guaranteed to float ur flip-flops- but not ur boat! #Florida @thefloridakeys http://t.co/UbWjcM0n

Think history is boring?
A past filled with pirates, war, shipwrecks and rescues make the House of Refuge at Gilbert’s Bar anything but a snooze. The house -- the oldest structure on the Treasure Coast -- is perched atop an imposing limestone outcropping close to the smooth sands of Stuart Beach.
If the weather is right, you can see the wreckage of the Georges Valentine, a three-masted Italian brigantine that sank during a violent storm in 1904, peeking from the waves just 100 yards offshore. Hardly your typical museum!
For a glimpse of this Martin County must-see, check out this video I made of my recent trip there.
This video was shot with my KODAK Zx1 Pocket Video Camera.
