Hang gliding is my passion, and in 2006, I helped the U.S. Women's Hang Gliding Team win silver in the World Championships. An author, ultimate adventure lover, beach bunny and sand snob, I've visited almost every beach in Florida and can't wait to explore more. Join me as I flip-flop across the Sunshine State, sharing the softest sand, sweetest shores and a boatload of adventure.
Today's Key West event guaranteed to float ur flip-flops- but not ur boat! #Florida @thefloridakeys http://t.co/UbWjcM0n

Some things are worth the walk. Even when that walk is on a broken foot and a soul can move about as fast as a fish without fins.
Such was the hike I took yesterday down the sand to a particularly dominating chunk of limestone at the beach of Blowing Rocks Preserve, a barrier island sanctuary on the southern tip of Martin County. The preserve boasts natural habitats, beach dunes, limestone geysers, a boardwalk, nature trails, butterfly gardens, art and educational exhibits and guided tours. At high tide, waves smash into the limestone rock formations -- the biggest on the Atlantic coast -- blowing water as high as 50 feet through the holes in the rock.
You’ll understand why I was happy to hobble when you check out the short flick that I made from footage that my hubby and I took there!
This video was shot with my KODAK Zx1 Pocket Video Camera.
