The bullet on the google map is wrong. The Palm is on the north part of the island at 10 Bay Esplanade. Go through the roundabout, take Mandalay Avenue north and then make a left at the fire dept. (the water tower is long gone). Parking in the lot on the left. Probably exactly where these cars are parked in the photos. Metered now though.

This IS the Palm Pavilion on north Clearwater Beach. My mom has a photo from the l950s that also shows the Gulf of Mexico just steps from the "Palm." Today they are still directly on the sand, but the beach has really expanded and you have to walk a few more steps to get to the Gulf of Mexico. The next time you go to the grill and bar look around because you can still see alot of the same wood from the early days. Most of it has the decking that opens up to the sand below. Great place for lunch, dinner, drinks or to watch the sun set.
