Did You Know … ?
- Y.E. Yang, who won the Honda Classic at PGA National Resort & Spa in March 2009, went on to capture the PGA Championship last summer. As the reigning PGA Champion, Yang is the only Asian-born player to win a major golf championship.
- PGA National Resort & Spa, home to The Honda Classic, is one of only three golf facilities to have hosted a Ryder Cup, PGA Championship and Senior PGA Championship. The others to make that claim — Laurel Valley Golf Club in Ligonier, Pa., and Oak Hill Country Club in Rochester, N.Y.
- The Blue Monster Course at Doral Golf Resort & Spa in Miami, site of the World Golf Championships-CA Championship from March 11-14, has hosted a PGA Tour event each year since 1962. Multiple winners over that time at Doral have included Jack Nicklaus, Tiger Woods, Raymond Floyd, Greg Norman and Billy Casper.
- Defending champion Retief Goosen is the only multiple winner of the Transitions Championship, which is set this year for March 18-21 at Innisbrook Resort & Golf Club in Palm Harbor.
- Tiger Woods has captured the Arnold Palmer Invitational a record six times, including the last two. The 2010 Arnold Palmer Invitational is played March 25-28 at Bay Hill Club & Lodge in Orlando.
