The Little Manatee River is formed in a swampy area near Fort Lonesome and flows almost 40 miles before emptying into Tampa Bay. The river has been designated an Outstanding Florida Water and is part of Cockroach Bay Aquatic Preserve. It flows for 4.5 miles through Little Manatee River State Park. The park has limited fishing access on the banks of the Little Manatee River. All freshwater fishing rules and regulations apply. See Little Manatee River Paddling Trail for more information about paddling the river.
Besides kayaking and canoeing, the park features 6.5 miles of hiking trails and 12 miles of equestrian trails. Read Less
