Like to Bike?
July 07, 2008
Sure, maybe the first thing you’re thinking about Sunday morning is lazing in bed. The most strenuous activity on your mind might be lifting a pudding-filled pastry.

Da-da-da-duh! Adventure Woman is here to save you! (Are you grateful? Good. I knew you were.)

Before you stuff that doughnut in your mouth, little missy, remember summer is here and bikini season has marched right in with it. A little back-to-nature exercise with some like minded folks will keep you trim. Besides, by noon, you’ll be feeling fantastic that you cozied up with Mother Nature instead of a fat-filled sugar bomb.

Every Sunday morning, Bike Works’ Winter Springs store hosts a mountain bike ride. They invite you to explore the Flagler Trail with them. This unpaved wilderness trail is nestled in rural Seminole County, just 30 minutes from Orlando. No reservations are necessary. Just show up ready to pedal!

The Flagler Trail offers hiking and equestrian trails as well as biking, and has been designated as one of the county's Showcase Trails. Click here for more information about it

  • When: 8 a.m. Sunday
  • Length of ride: Approx. 2 1/2 hours
  • Where: Flagler Trail Head, 3290 Snow Hill Road, across from Walker Elementary School in Chuluota.
  • Bring insect repellent and water – this is Florida in the summer!
  • Helmets are preferred.

For more details, call the Bike Works north store at 407-696-6555.

This turtle I found on my last bike ride wasn't thrilled about posing for the camera.
