Key West’s Fantasy Fest
October 12, 2009
Does Key West know how to throw a party?

Puh--leeze. Does a fish know how to swim?

If you’d like to experience the Islanders’ capabilities for costumes, craziness and the aforementioned partying in person, Fantasy Fest, a 10-day extravaganza from Oct. 23 –Nov. 1, 2009, should aptly fill the bill. A small sampling of Fantasy Fest’s fare includes:

•    Vampire's Ball
•    Headdress Ball
•    Pet Masquerade Parade
•    Celebrity Look-A-Like Contest
•    Toga Party

The Captain Morgan Fantasy Fest Parade on Halloween caps off the masked madness, where you can mingle with -- get this -- 70,000 costumed partygoers as the parade careens down Duval Street.

Like to fish? Key West is legendary for that, too. Check this out!

Catman is by far my favorite street performer. This was at a Mallory Square sunset celebration.
