It’s enough to make a sea-bean-lover swoon.
Of course, the question that begs to be asked is: What exactly is a sea-bean?
I guarantee you’ll know after you attend Cocoa Beach’s Fourteenth Annual International Sea-Bean Symposium and Beachcombers’ Festival, held at the Cocoa Beach Public Library (550 North Brevard Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida 32931) Oct. 16 -17, 2009. The event features:
• Sea-bean collections and displays
• Sea-bean experts
• Sea-bean polishing
• The famous Bean-O-Matic
• Jewelry
• T-shirts
• Slideshows
• Speakers
• Books
• Authors
• International guests
• Raffle and contests (including the ever popular “Odd-Bean” contest, and Saturday morning “Bean-a-thon” beachcombing bonanza).
The event is not only open to the public; it’s free. While you’re there, you should definitely check out the beach and maybe even take a surfing lesson. Here’s a video that highlights me demonstrating my awesome wave-riding capabilities there.
