Cowboy Heritage Festival and the Florida Ranch Rodeo State Finals
September 23, 2009
The Crackers you’ll find at the Cowboy Heritage Festival ain’t your Mama’s Saltines.

They’re cowboys, they’re tough-as-beef-jerky and they’re going to be celebrated at the Cowboy Heritage Festival and the Florida Ranch Rodeo State Finals in Kissimmee on Oct. 2-3, 2009.  Besides the always-interesting rodeo action – barrel racing, bull and bronco riding, steer wrestling – the festival will feature:

•    Sunshine State Musicians
•    Whip Cracking Contest (you might ask these cowboys how the name “Cracker” came to be)
•     Authentic Cracker Cow Hunter Cow Camps
•     Authentic South Eastern Tribes Native American Encampment
•     Living History Encampments
•     Storytellers
•     Cowboy Poetry
•     Cowboy Artists
•     Leather Crafters
•     Saddle Makers
•     Whip Plaiters
•     Beef Cook-off
•     Swamp Cabbage Cooking

I reckon you should gallop on over to Kissimmee and check it out! Looking for ideas for after-the-rodeo fun? Take a peek at this video.
