HOT Rides
December 12, 2007
All aboard! The HOT Express Beach & Downtown Circulator Trolley is ready to roll in Hollywood Beach.

Starting Dec. 13, 2007, visitors to the area can catch scenic trolley rides for only a dollar roundtrip. Accompanied children under 12 ride for free.

These fully-equipped, air conditioned trolleys will cruise from select hotels and beach spots to destinations on the Hollywood Beach Boardwalk and Historic Downtown District.

Forget fumbling with maps while trying to pilot your rental car through unfamiliar territory. When I’m traveling, there are few things I like more than an inexpensive, air conditioned ride in the right direction.

The HOT Express runs four days a week through April 27, 2008. Two trolleys will depart along the same route every half-hour, with run times on Thursday and Friday from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m.; Saturday from noon to 1 a.m.; and Sunday from noon to 9 p.m.

The 28-passenger trolleys accommodate all riders, and comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) for those in wheelchairs. Fancy features include DVD players and a “hospitality greeter” full of information on dining, entertainment and points of interest in Hollywood.

Stops along the beach and hotel district include the Crowne Plaza Hollywood Resort, the Westin Diplomat Resort & Spa, the Hollywood Beach Culture & Community Center, the Ramada Hollywood Beach Resort, and several others.

Downtown trolley stops include Anniversary Park, Harrison Street near Dixie Highway and the southeastern quadrant of the ArtsPark.

The HOT Express Beach & Downtown Circulator Trolley is offered by the Beach and Downtown Districts of the Hollywood Community Redevelopment Agency (CRA) and the Hollywood Office of Tourism (HOT).

Find shuttle schedules and maps at local hotels and along A1A, or get more information at www.VisitHollywood.org.
