St. Petersburg, the beautiful coastal town on Florida's Western edge of the Gulf of Mexico, is bringing world-class art to the Sunshine State in a big way. The Morean Arts Center is the new home to a gallery of glass by renowned artist Dale Chihuly. A whirlwind series of events will celebrate the gallery's opening on the city's famed Beach Drive. The new gallery anchors the 400 block with chic style and sophistication.

Plan to attend one or more of the fabulous events over the next two weeks and celebrate St. Petersburg's offical coming out on the arts scene. On July 3rd, there's fun for the whole family at First Gather: A Community Celebration Grand Opening of the Morean's Glass Studio and Hot Shop. This free event runs from 10 a.m. - 4 p.m. and will transform the streets surrounding the Downtown arts center building into a street fair and celebration of art.

On July 10th, you can meet Dale Chihuly in person at a lecture and book signing being held at the beautiful Renaissance Vinoy Resort. July 10th provides a good party with the Canivale of Glass. From 7-11 p.m., 400 Beach Seafood and Taphouse will turn up the volume for a welcome party the city won't soon forget, and on July 11, the Chihuly Collection Premiere will unveil the stunning collection for all of us to see.
