Here's some scoop on a fun time in Sebastian next month.
Let's start with the event's name: The Sebastian Clambake Lagoon Festival. With a name like that, it has to be tons of fun, right? And, if you know anything about sunny Sebastian, you know it's a festive time set smack dab in the middle of paradise. On one side, beautiful beaches set the scene with welcoming waves from the Atlantic Ocean, and on the other, Old Florida Charm embraces the inhabitants off the banks of the Indian River.
I caught my first tarpon off the shore of Sebastian Inlet...an 80-pound monster on 12-pound test. So, I'll always have a special place in my heart for Sebastian.
And, that's why I'll be beating it over to the other coast on the weekend of Nov. 6-8 to check out the Sebastian Clambake Lagoon Festival. This free festival celebrates the town's special way of life. And, look for a big dose of culture to come with every basket of clams. The good people who call Indian River home are down-to-earth folks who look forward to sharing hospitality with the many visitors the clam bake brings in every year.
Entertainment at the festival is slated to include live music, historic re-enactments, a boat show, raft races, a volleyball tournament, a kayak poker run and more good food than you can imagine. Be sure to check out the famous linguini with clam sauce, clam chowder and steamers.
And, look for me. I'll be the one walking around happy as a clam! |
