It seems that everywhere you turn there’s gloom and doom talk of the recession. If you’re anything like me, dire warnings to tighten your belt, keep a close grip on your purse strings and cut up those credit cards have taken a toll on your willingness to indulge in good times – just for the fun of it. But, keep an eye out … news of the recession is making way for a brighter financial forecast and last quarter’s investment returns didn’t look quite so bad.
So, while we all still have plenty of reason to start every entertainment plan with lots of sensibility, remember, fun is a mandatory prerequisite to the Florida lifestyle. Whether you’re with us for a brief visit or a permanent part of the sunshine state – here in Florida, it’s your duty to shake your booty and your right to look out of sight! And, perhaps most importantly, we never let the amount of money in our pockets get in the way of a good time. Count on me to help you navigate through all of the exciting options our great state has to offer for fabulously affordable Florida fun.
Every week, I’ll post an insider tip or two on affordable happenings (shopping, arts & entertainment specific) that will keep you in the swing of things without emptying out your wallet.
Today’s insider entertainment tip: Regal Entertainment Group is helping our little ones stay cool during the sizzling summer with free movies every Tuesday and Wednesday morning at 10 a.m. With more than two dozen theaters throughout the state, from Tampa to Tallahassee, this great deal offers affordable family fun for all of us. And while it’s not new – Regal has been opening its doors for the nation’s children during the summer for nearly 20 years – it’s still a well-kept secret in most communities. And, since there’s nothing I hate more than a secret, especially one that’s much better suited for sharing, I need you to help me get the word out. Pack that minivan full of all the munchkins in your neighborhood and take an air-conditioned break from the heat with a trip to the movies. It’s first come, first seated – so be sure to arrive on time.
