Few places are as pretty as Punta Gorda, a sweet and Southern coastal city that sits squarely at the mouth of Charlotte Harbor. I love to make my way to Punta Gorda in the summertime, passing time with a tall glass of sweet tea, catchy conversation and good friends. With tropical breezes and storybook scenery on excessive supply, this harbor's the hang out for anyone looking for a slice of our laid-back Florida lifestyle.
This weekend's Home, Garden and Fine Art Show will give us plenty to do, see and talk about. The show winds its way through the Center Court of Fishermen's Village, a waterfront mall and resort located at 1200 W. Retta Esplanade. Beautiful art from some of our region’s most renowned artists, beautiful plants from area nurseries and authentic Florida crafts make this show well worth the drive, especially since it's so easy to get to... Just minutes from I-75, there's no getting lost. Or, if you're feeling especially adventurous, set sail and pull up to the marina for a day of Southwest Florida fun.
If You Go: Fishermen's Village in Punta Gorda plays host to this super show. Location: 1200 W. Retta Esplanade; Free Admission; Saturday, July 18, 10 a.m.-6 p.m.; Sunday, July 19, noon-5 p.m. 941-379-0951; www.fishville.com |
