Lake Wales - The Historic District of Lake Wales is hosting a city-wide Mardi Gras festival with masquerade parties, fanciful formal balls and incredible parades. The fun begins on Saturday, January 12th, 2008, with the Ancient and Mystic Krewe of Atlantis at La Bella Torre Restaurant. On Friday, February 1st and Saturday, February 2nd, a free, two-day Mardi Gras Music Festival, features Jazz, Zydeco, Dixieland, and more. Arts, crafts, Cajun foods, and street musicians accent the annual Mardi Gras Parade on Saturday afternoon to complete the atmosphere, drawing more than 50,000 people. Immediately after the parade, there will be a Post-Parade Dance Party at the combined La Bella Torre and The Highlander restaurants on Stuart Avenue, featuring the dance music of the incredible Hoochie Daddies. On the Space Coast, there’s four days of family fun in historic downtown Cocoa Village and Riverfront Park at the City of Cocoa's Space Coast Mardi Gras. The event will feature a major carnival, free and paid concerts and The Central Brevard Humane Society will present "Paws in the Park" on Sunday at 1pm featuring all kinds of pet contests and fun activities in Riverfront Park. South Beach - Tuesday, February 5th – Martini Tuesdays are a SoBe institution so check them out for Fat Tuesday. This weekly cocktail party meets at a different venue every Tuesday starting at 9pm. Sandestin – The 6th Annual Fat Tuesday Baytowne Bash Parade features colorful floats and paraders who shower onlookers with a barrage of beads, moon pies, and other trinkets.
