Love is in the Florida air with great Valentine’s Day specials and events taking place around the state. I’ve listed some of the highlights below and hope you’ll take advantage of these great events, packages and dinners.

First of all, there’s the largest annual beachside Vow Renewal held on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota, FL. Every year, over 400 couples gather on Siesta Key Beach in Sarasota – one of the only places in the world where the soft, sugary sand is 99% pure quartz – to renew their vows of marriage in the romantic beachside ceremony at sunset.  The "Say 'I Do' Again: A Renewal of Marriage Vows" event takes place at 6:00 pm on Feb. 14, and is open to anyone who would like to attend– locals and visitors alike.  Couples can pre-register for event by calling 941-861-7275, and will receive a special personalized certificate and flowers.

The Captiva Beach Resort White Sand and Sunsets Getaway packagefeatures three nights lodging in a suite; two one-hour, in-room massages and three days’ rental for two beach chairs and a beach umbrella.  This package also includes dinner for two at one of the resorts’ four premier restaurants, breakfast for two at the famous Broken Egg Restaurant and one breakfast-in-bed delivery basket. Nestled in oak trees over looking the tranquil waters of Sarasota Bay, La Palme Bed and Breakfast’s Lover’s Weekend package includes a two-night stay in the Elizabeth Perry Royale Suite or Le Prince Charles Suite during any weekend in February, and includes one dozen long stem roses, a half-pound box of dark chocolates and a complimentary bottle of red or white wine. The Suite Heart Get-A-Way package at the Best Western Ambassador Suites in Venice includes a one night/two day stay in a deluxe king mini-suite, hot breakfast in the café, dinner for two at Cassariano’s Italian Restaurantand a complimentary bottle of champagne. Orlando’s Discovery Coveis offering three Valentine’s Packages. From chocolate and roses, to champagne and private cabanas, the exclusive, reservations-only retreat has covered all the bases for an unforgettable Valentine’s Day for two that all include an amazing day swimming with dolphins and snorkeling with rays and tropical fish. Their Valentine’s Romance Package ($299.95) gives guests the ultimate experience, combining take home amenities with a champagne chiller, one dozen red roses, and a souvenir DVD of their Discovery Cove® experience. The Hyatt Key West Resort & Spa is the place for the eco-minded Valentine’s celebration, with a resort-wide “eco-glam” redesign just wrapped up. Among many highlights, the new Jala Spa – that’s Sanskrit for “living in water” – is donating $5 from every signature “Jala Blue” treatment exclusively to the Reef Relief Organization. The Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Hollywood is offering a Love the One You’re With package that includes a guestroom and spa package with Contour Spa with prices starting at $699.00. The AAA Four Diamond WaterColor Inn and Resort in Santa Rosa Beach is celebrating the lovers’ holiday with a romantic two-night “Four Diamond Valentine” package, aphrodisiacs included. Valentine's Day dinner at the historic Casa Marina Hotel & Restaurant in Jacksonville is a romantic affair. Directly oceanfront, its theme of the beach includes a gift of chocolate shells and roses for the ladies and a complimentary Champagne toast for all. In Miami, Lincoln Road’s SUSHISAMBA dromo is where you’ll want to take your sweetie. Miami’s River Oyster Bar is offering a four-course menu for $80 per person (tax and gratuity are additional). The River Oyster Bar offers wine flights that pair each dish with its appropriate vintage for an additional $35 per person. Start with “Champagne, Oysters and Caviar” a medley of Blue Point oysters and then move on to the Butter Poached Three Pound Maine Lobster for Two with roasted winter vegetables, among other dishes. Michael’s Kitchen at Miami’s Newport Beachside Hotel is SoBe’s latest “hot” restaurant. The legendary Breakers Hotel in Palm Beach is offering Valentine’s Day Specials at three of their restaurants. If you find yourself alone this Valentine’s Day, check out Orlando’s Tatáme Lounge. Catering to the college crowd, the Valentine’s Day celebrations will kick-off Tuesday, Feb. 12 when Tatáme Lounge hosts a date auction. Come bid on a local hottie courtesy of Rollins College. The auction begins at 9:00 p.m. with all proceeds benefiting the Harbor House, a shelter for battered and abused woman and children. On Wednesday, Feb. 13 they’ll host a speed-dating event hosted by DJ Stranger.
