| If you’ve been meaning to get to the elegant Chima Brazilian Steakhouse (pronounced “She-ma”) on Las Olas in Fort Lauderdale, now is the time to visit, as they’ll be hosting their Carnival Celebration, a 5-day-long festival celebrating the Brazilian culture, from March 12-March 16, 2008.
The traditional Carnival, originating in 1845 in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, is not only a celebration of Brazilian culture, it’s a street festival known across the world for elaborate parades, masquerades, music, dancing and vibrantly colored costumes. Chima has adapted this theme into a family-friendly festivities brought to life through live entertainment like music, street entertainers and samba dancers. Chima will also give away custom designed Carnival necklaces – similar to Mardi Gras beads but with a Brazilian flair – so that guests may take home a bit of the Carnival experience with them.
The Brazilian adventure continues with a variety of authentic Brazilian cuisine. Guests can enjoy the Brazilian Churrasco (Brazilian barbeque) served rodizo style, which includes 16 kinds of meat, ranging from filet mignon, pork loin, lamb chops, chicken and fish all served by authentic “Gauchos.” The Brazilian Gauchos, dressed in traditional attire, travel from table to table tempting guests with skewers of deliciously prepared meats – until they finally say “enough!” by turning the double-sided coin on the table from orange to black. Meals are accompanied by a serious salad bar including more than 15 varieties of salads, oven-fresh breads, soups and cheeses. A full bar provides standard and specialty drinks like the Chima Mojito and the Classic Caipirinha, and a wine list that is the envy of connoisseurs everywhere.
Chima is located at 2400 E. Las Olas Boulevard. For reservations or more information, please call (954) 712-0580 or visit www.chimasteakhouse.com. Complimentary valet parking is provided. |
