Happy New Year! ¡ Feliz Año Nuevo! One of the many things I love about living in Miami is that it's a melting pot of cultures. This definitely made New Year's Eve festivities that much more interesting and entertaining than any other destination.
It didn't matter what part of the city you were ringing in the New Year; Spanish, Portuguese, French and Italian were among the many languages spoken as they welcomed 2009! This international flare is to celebrities like honey is too bees. Irresistable!
All of Miami Beach's nightlife hot spots were filled with celebrities dancing, singing and cocktailing while saying goodbye to 2008. Now, who wouldn't want to party with the stars?
At Privé's New Year's Eve party, John Legend was the main attraction. After seranading the crowd with his song Green Light, he proclaimed that "2009 would be better than 2008!" Miami's own, Dwayne Wade, was spotted with Gabrille Union at the Florida Room in the Delano while listening to the hip-hop sounds of The Roots! Meanwhile, Jamie Foxx was seen getting down at Blue Door.
One of the most entertaining sightings of the night was Lindsay Lohan and Sam Ronson who were hosting the nights festivities at the Mansion. Over at Sky Bar, hottie Gerard Butler and Maria Menounos were partying into the wee hours of 2009. Jared Lero and Ian Ziering were also spotted there taking in the evening.
One of the most talked about parties of the night was at LIV in the newly revamped Fontainebleau Hotel. With Sean "Diddy" Combs hosting the night, actors Joaquin Phoenix and Casey Affleck celebrated 2009. Stacey Kiebler, Mickey Rouke, Tyrese Gibson, Adam Levine of Maroon 5, Molly Sims, Nick Lachey and girlfriend ,Vanessa Minillo were also part of the main attraction at LIV.
Miami Beach said ciao to 2008 with pure star power! I have no doubt that the seductiveness of my hometown will continue to attract celebrities to this international tropical destination in 2009!
Happy New Year! Like my partner in crime, Sharron, would say "Let's make it a DIVINE year!"
Only love and happiness for 2009! Ciao!
