If you have read any of my blogs during the last month, you know I anything to do with the past...with history! I can perfectly picture myself being a fair maiden back in the days pirates roamed the cobblestone streets of towns like St. Augustine and before the founding of our country.
If you enjoy history and a little role playing, then you need to listen up! Historic St. Augustine is ready for its annual one-of-a kind festival - The St. Augustine Pirate Gathering. Starting today, November 14 and continuing all weekend long, pirates will once again occupy the nation’s oldest city.
This time, the pirates will be in a much more festive mood. It will be a “gathering” of pirates from around the country coming together to celebrate the Golden Age of Piracy, to share their pride and knowledge with the citizens and visitors of St. Augustine.
The calendar of events will give you a clear view of all the mischief that will be taking place in St. Augustine: pirate parade, battles, cannon firings, sword fighting demonstrations, Buccaneer Bash, etc. Worth mentioning as well is the Thieves Market which awaits visitors with wonderful and unique pirate treasures.
So... don yer pirate garb and join in for a weekend of fun, skullduggery, and merrymaking as St. Augustine celebrates… Keep living life large! Ciao
