Hola. As I mentioned in my previous blog, I recently went on a getaway trip with my girlfriends to Amelia Island. We all have kids under the age of 10, so this type of mini vacation is essential to keeping our sanity!
We stayed at the Amelia Island Plantation, tucked away on the southern end of the island amidst majestic live oak trees. The resort overlooks the blue water of the Atlantic on the east and the green marshland and Intracoastal Waterway on the west, and it offers a variety of accommodations, ranging from deluxe hotel rooms to oceanfront penthouses.
We chose it because the place caters to moms just like us, trying to escape for a couple of days to recharge our batteries. The girls just want to have fun! Getaway Package was what we needed. Wine and chocolate strawberries on the first night, pizza and beer on the second night, a relaxing spa treatment, complimentary cocktails at the Falcon’s Nest and 25 percent off recreational activities throughout the resort.
An entertainment haven, Amelia Island Plantation offers a myriad of outdoor activities, including 54 championship holes of golf; an award-winning tennis program with 23 Har-Tru clay courts; seven miles of nature trails for walking, biking and jogging; and 24 refreshing swimming pools. Other amenities include an elaborate health and fitness center; six restaurants; two lounges and bicycle and island hopper rentals.
As much as we would have loved to try all those activities, we had one goal in mind: Experience the perfect harmony this island destination resort shares with nature. So we headed straight to the beach chairs and sat underneath the colorful umbrellas with cocktails in one hand and fashion and entertainment magazines in the other while we shared some good ol’ friend conversations.

Ciao!
