A few days ago I shared some information on National Get Outdoors Day, which is right around the corner. This Saturday, June 11, make plans to get out of the house and play outside! Since my last post on the event, I've discovered all sorts of great Get Outdoors Day activities that you should think about attending.
National Get Outdoors Day is the perfect occasion to introduce children to the outdoors, how about a free fishing clinic at Fort Clinch State Park? Kids will receive a free rod and reel, and bait is provided as well.
Another great family event is the "Breakfast With A Ranger" program at Topsail Hill Preserve State Park. It's a great opportunity to discuss wildlife and nature. It's a fun program in a wonderful location that you won't want to miss. For more information, visit the Topsail Hill Preserve State Park website.
Florida's loaded with places that you can connect with nature. If you would like to create your own fun day outdoors, consider a birding trip on one of 489 sites along the Great Florida Birding Trail. Wherever you are in the Sunshine State, you can bet that there's a site near you! Use the awesome trip-planning tool to locate destinations and bird species.
See you outside on National Get Outdoors Day - have fun! |
