Video: Sunrise View from a 12th Floor Room at the Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale
November 05, 2009
Sparkling white and deep sea blue. These are the colors that come to mind when I remember my recent stay at The Ritz-Carlton Fort Lauderdale. The property is very contemporary, and the cooling color scheme gives you an instant feeling of ahhh. Staying in one of the rooms or suites here actually feels like you're aboard an ocean liner, with sea views to the horizon and an inviting pool deck below. Watch my short video to get an idea for the serene vibe I felt when I walked onto the patio of my 12th floor terrace one recent morning. The sun was just coming up, joggers were padding along the sand, and the quietly lapping ocean was beckoning me for a swim. A few minutes after shooting this video, I walked down to the beach to dip into the warm Atlantic (perfect start to any day!) and had one of the most amazing animal encounters I've ever had -- a giant manatee was lollygagging in the shallows! It smoothly circled me where I swam in just a few feet of water, then popped up three yards away to take a deep breath before waving its tail in my direction. Pure Florida magic!
