Any chance I get, I love to experience Florida with my three little nieces, Maddy, Ella and Olivia. But let me tell you, the logistics of traveling with an entourage of toddlers is not an easy operation (the girls are 3, 2 and 1!). They need snacks; they need toys; they need constant stimulation! So boy was I relieved to find a resort recently that makes traveling with little ones not only as easy as possible, but a veritable pleasure, too!
The Resort at Singer Island is pretty much an over-stressed parent's dream come true. Right on the beach on Singer Island in Palm Beach County, this hotel is composed of all suites (with one, two or three bedrooms) -- each outfitted with a high-end kitchen, gorgeous modern bathrooms and bedrooms and a balcony for soaking up the ocean and island views. The living spaces are large and comfortable, with flat screen TVs, ample couches and a big dining room table for assembling the gang. And there are iPod docking stations in the rooms and flatscreens, too.
Everyone in our entourage had their favorite things about staying here.
For my sister, the mother of three, it was the usefulness of a full kitchen for prepping meals for the kids and having tasty meals in for the adults in our crew. When we arrived, Janet got right to work stocking the fridge and whipping up hors d'oeuvres.
My brother-in-law, Matt, loved chilling on the balcony -- normally, he's the type that likes to head out in search of the party. But Matt felt chill enough here with the amazing views just to sit on the balcony and unwind.
Uncle Crizzy's favorite thing was the beautiful beach, where he spent time building sandcastles and engineering sturdy sand bridges the girls could walk across. He was also in charge of filming our escapades on the resort's twisting waterslide, which was definitely my nieces' favorite attraction (check out the adorable video here). There's an infinity-edge pool on property, too, which attracts a more adult following.
My favorite thing about staying at The Resort at Singer Island was the beautiful beach and the seriously fluffy and comfortable king size bed. But a very close second favorite -- okay, let's call it a tie -- was having one of very best massages of my life at the hands of a talented an intuitive therapist named Milena at the resort's beautiful spa, SiSpa. The experience started with a citrus scrub with Florida oranges that gently exfoliated my skin. Then Milena asked a few pertinent questions and decided to focus her massage efforts on my over-stressed back. I felt like a million bucks not just right after leaving the spa, but for a few solid days after, too.
Now that's what I call a relaxing weekend away with the family!
I can't wait to visit the Resort at Singer Island again soon for an upcoming video feature on the best of Palm Beach County. Stay tuned!
And meanwhile, save money during your own stay here during Palm Beach County's centennial celebration. The 1909 Founders Package has amazing hotels deals countywide. Book four nights at the Resort at Singer Island, and one of those nights will be priced at just $19.09.
