Oh my, I like the sound of this. The Eco Roof Top Hammock Massage - the latest treatment that's being readied to debut at the spa at the Ritz-Carlton Orlando, Grande Lakes.
Recently, I was on my way to another fabulous treatment here (more on that soon), when a door leading to a private terrace fringed by potted plants and little swatches of planted earth caught my eye. A hammock was slung, postcard perfect, over the mini herbal oasis.
"That's going to be our new hammock massage," my therapist told me, "You can smell the fresh herbs during your treatment. They're used by the chef for meals at the spa cafe."
Now, I'm a hammock person to begin with. So the idea of lying in a hammock with the scent of basil on the warm Florida air, rhythmically swaying in my most comfy yoga outfit while a therapist tends to my tired muscles with Shiatsu, reflexology and other techniques -- that sounds like Nirvana to me.
The new massage launches in a few weeks, and 70-minute sessions cost $210.
From the official treatment description: The benefits of 'zero gravity' and massage come together in this exclusive experience. The hammock elongates the spine to create a sense of weightlessness and floating, giving the body greater flexibility and range of motion. |
