The "King," Arnold Palmer, has many golf layouts around the world, but one of his best is in Palm Bay (near Daytona Beach). The par-72 Majors Golf Club (obviously named for the many major golf championships that Arnie has captured) has been awarded 4½ stars by Golf Digest.
Created to run through preservation areas and wetlands, Majors Golf Club is also home to plenty of other water in the form of creeks and lakes, with 7, 000 yards of rolling terrain that make it look and feel more like a Carolina-style course as opposed to the more level layouts that are customary in the region.
A semiprivate club open to the public, the course has several holes that are real challenges. As a matter of fact, Majors Golf Club has more bunkers than any other course in Brevard County. The par-3 No. 15 is a great hole with a tough island green to negotiate. If you feel the need to hone your game, the practice facility is one of the best, with an extra-large range and two putting greens, along with a chipping/pitching area and practice bunkers – both greenside and fairway.
In the late winter/early spring, you may run into some of Major League Baseball’s Washington Nationals players, who practice nearby.
Majors Golf Club is part of the Florida Golf Trail and has partnered with Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront and Doubletree Guest Suites Melbourne Beach Oceanfront to offer Stay & Play golf packages throughout the year.
