Special Resident Rate & Exclusive Offer for Military at World Golf Hall of Fame This Summer
May 19, 2009
This summer, the World Golf Hall of Fame, located at World Golf Village in St. Augustine is saying thanks to local residents and those who have served in the military with two special  discounts beginning on May 23:
  1. A $10 admission fee for Florida and Georgia residents
  2. Free admission for U.S. Military and reserve members from across the country.
With a discount like that, they're are no excuses not to go see its special "Bob Hope: Shanks for the Memory" exhibit, which offers the largest collection of the World Golf Hall of Fame member’s memorabilia ever placed on public display in a single exhibition and offers over two hours of video footage and an audio tour. The exhibit focuses on Hope’s life on and off the golf course, including his passion and devotion to the United States Military.

Visitors also will get to try their hand at a round on the Hall’s 18-hole, natural-grass Putting Course, designed to United States Golf Association (USGA) specifications. Putters and golf balls are provided at no additional cost.

Tickets can be purchased separately for a film at the adjacent 2D World Golf Hall of Fame IMAX® Theater. From Memorial Day on, the theater will feature movies including Night at the Museum: Battle of the Smithsonian, Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen, Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince and limited showings of other general-run films. For ticket information and show times visit the IMAX section of www.wgv.com.

Here's the small print:

Retired and currently serving members of the military and reserve forces can enjoy complimentary admission through Independence Day, Saturday, July 4. The offer allows entrance into the World Golf Hall of Fame and one round on the Hall’s 18-hole, natural-grass putting course and is good for up to four accompanying family members.  A military photo identification will be required upon entry to receive the offer.

Florida and Georgia residents can enjoy admission for only $10 through Sunday, October 4. The offer allows entrance in to the World Golf Hall of Fame and one round on the Hall’s 18-hole, natural grass putting course and is good for up to four accompanying family members.  Proof of residency (driver’s license or other photo identification) will be required upon entry to receive the discount.
