| The Florida State Golf Association (FSGA) is holding its qualifying event at SouthWood Golf Club in Tallahassee on Tuesday, June 10. You may watch the top amateurs in the state attempt to play their way into the FSGA 91st Amateur Championship which will be held at Jupiter Hills GC in Tequesta, FL from June 19-22. Spectators are welcome for the qualifying round at SouthWood.
If you have been reading my blog, you’ve heard about SouthWood GC before. I got a chance to visit this wonderful course a few months back and I’m sure that the FSGA will be happy with the challenge it provides. At 7,172 yards from the back tees and a slope of 135, it will surely help identify the golfers who should move on to the Championship event.
A few of the past Florida Amateur Championship winners were Jerry Pate, Bob Murphy and Gary Koch. SouthWood GC is also home to the Florida State University men’s and women’s golf teams.
