| Here is another chance to get up close with the pros and some well-known celebrities. The PGA Champions Tour is holding the Outback Steakhouse Pro-Am April 14 – 20, 2008 at the TPC Tampa Bay located in Lutz (just north of Tampa).
This event will have senior players such as defending champion Tom Watson, Jerry Pate, Nick Price, Craig Stadler, Tom Kite and Hale Irwin. There will be plenty of celebrities to gawk at like defending amateur champion Bill Murray from Caddyshack. Comedian and TV star George Lopez will be playing along with Vince Gill, Jerry Rice, Stone Phillips, Joe Theismann, Derrick Brooks and Ronde Barber. One of my favorite LPGA players will also be there, Hall of Famer Nancy Lopez. This sounds like an entertaining group and a great time. So much so that I plan to attend this event to take photos and write a full story about the goings on. Maybe I’ll see you there.
The tournament is in need of many volunteers to help this immense event run smoothly. If you have the time you’ll not only get to see the action up close, but there is a package of goodies for the volunteers like day passes, parking, lunch, and a round of golf at the TPC Tampa Bay among other items. There is a fee to become a volunteer, but you’ll get substantially more than you’ll pay for.
