I'm not sure if they've lost their minds over there at the PGA Tour Golf Academy, but they're giving away a lot of stuff these days. When I say "stuff" I mean lessons and evaluations, which can be expensive.
The latest freebie comes in the form of short game evaluations. Here's the deal: You show up at World Golf Village on Saturday, Oct. 24, and they'll give you seven different short game tests, from 100 yards in -- putting, chipping, "hinge and hold," toss shot, pitching, bunkers and lob.
"It basically gives you an idea of what your weaknesses are in your short game," staff instructor Wes Owens told VISIT FLORIDA.
When you're through, they will issue you a short-game handicap. Check-in will take place at the PGA Tour Stop and shuttles will be provided to the golf academy. For more information or to reserve a spot, call 904-940-3600.
Don't forget that the PGA Tour Academy is also holding an open house Nov. 21-22 with free instruction on other aspects of your game all day long, starting on the hour. That includes full swing, putting and short game clinics.
