| Part of the Florida Golf Trail, the Bardmoor Golf &Tennis Club is a past site of the PGA and LPGA Tours JCPenney Classic. Open to the public, it has been voted repeatedly as one of the top courses in the Tampa Bay area by the readers of the St. Petersburg Times. Golf Digest rates it highly with 4½ Stars. This is a track definitely worth a visit.
Designed in 1971 by William Diddle, the place received a new 12,000-square-foot clubhouse in 1998 and underwent a $2 million renovation to the course by PGA Tour player and golf course architect Gary Koch in 2005.
No. 5 is a beautiful Par 3 and plays 174 yards from the back tee to an elevated green with water guarding the back and right side. You’ll remember this one for its loveliness. The No. 13 hole, also a Par 3, is 225 from the back – you’ll remember this one if your skillful shot hits the green. Bring your hybrids.
The Gold Tees (second from the tips) measure 6,579 with a rating/slope of 72.0/127 so you really don’t need to be a Tour player to play here. There are four sets of tees to let everyone enjoy their game.
