Spring has Sprung!
March 24, 2008
Flowers and butterflies remind us that spring is here! For us, it's mainly baseball, but there IS more to life!  So, I put together some off-the-beaten path, wonderful ways to enjoy some springtime family fun in Florida.  Here you go:

MOSI’s BioWorks Butterfly Garden, 4801 E. Fowler Ave., Tampa - The Museum of Science and Industry houses an engineered ecosystem that emulates how natural wetlands clean water as an alternative to current wastewater treatment techniques.  BioWorks houses a free flying butterfly garden that is home to thousands of butterflies each year, an animal husbandry laboratory where guests can watch the butterfly life cycle from egg to adult, while also enjoying extensive outdoor gardens, and two ponds.

Here’s a creative idea for a loved one: Adopt a butterfly in honor of someone. Call 813-987-6077. Each recipient will receive a color photograph of the adopted species and an adoption certificate. Prices range from Cassius Blue for $25, Monarch for $50 and a Swallow Tail for $100. Visit www.Mosigiving.org.

Families can also enjoy sipping on “Tea at Three” among the Monarchs.

EPCOT’s Fun in the Sun International Flower Show – Orlando. 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. from now until June 1st. What kid wouldn’t love a lady bug release and a butterfly garden? EPCOT’s 15th annual show welcomes visitors with special kids’ programs and spring fun to its “Fun in the Sun” event.

What mom wouldn’t love a special Mother’s Day Brunch surrounded by flowers, her children and a topiary shaped like Goofy?

Happy Spring!
