What family doesn't love the entertainment (and yummy food) at a State Fair? This year's Florida State Fair, located about seven miles from Tampa, opens today and runs through February 18th. Believe it or not, my kids even get a day off of school to attend. There are plenty of perks to growing up in Florida.
The jam-packed agenda for fun includes Vegas-style performances like the “Elvis Extravaganza,” Circus Hollywood, Hollywood Racing Pigs, Cracker Country, Purebred Exhibitions, 91 rides and more than 200 games and attractions throughout the grounds.
Check out the Fair's MySpace page, which is filled with details and pictures:
The Michaels family is off for our own weekend of fun and games at the Nickelodeon Family Suites by Holiday Inn in Orlando. Come back in a few weeks to see our video on “Kid-Friendly Resorts, Orlando.” I'm also going to Wonderworks for the "Outta Control Magic Comedy Dinner Show" and Walt Disney World for some research.
My Question and Answer page is filled with questions asking for Orlando tips, so I am bringing my pen and notepad to Disney's Boardwalk Inn!
On our way home, we are taking a detour to Sarasota to catch a matinée performance of Circus Sarasota, which also comes to Florida this month.
Any way you go, there is so much family fun this month in Florida that it's tough to choose where to go.
As you'll see if you follow us around the state, we just might do it all!
