| Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival Delayed until 2010 |

Wanted to let you all know that the Zellwood Sweet Corn Festival (in Zellwood, about 30 miles north of Orlando) has to skip a year this year --i t's typically held in late May. If you were planning on an outing to this event, I just wanted to give you the advance warning.
We hope the Festival is back on track for 2010.
In the meantime, the corn harvest is great and Long and Scott Farms in Zellwood is hosting a
Scott's Spring Corn Fest, a celebration of its own, every Saturday in May -- with a corn maze, lots of fun for the kids, plenty of corn to eat, of course, and plenty of corn for you to buy and take home.
If you can't get to Zellwood, Florida corn is in the stores now, in farmers' markets and even in the local big supermarkets. Treat yourself to some of the best corn around. For me nothing says summer like a plate full of corn (try it on the grill) and a plate of sliced tomatoes -- top those with a scattering of fresh basil, some salt and pepper and enjoy. |
